Weather Combi Sensor WG-NW-KOMBI

The Weather Combi Sensor is used to measure the meteorological parameters precipitation, wind speed and brightness in east, south and west direction.

The data is transferred to the ISYGLT Master via the WSM-01E Module.

Quick Facts

  • Wind speed
  • Rain
  • Brightness
  • Dew protection

The Weather Combi Sensor is used to measure the meteorological parameters: precipitation (yes/no), horizontal wind speed and brightness in east, south and west direction. These are output as electrical analog current or voltage signals and read into the ISYGLT system via the ISYGLT Weather Sensor connection box or the WSM-01E Module for further processing.
The measured values are used, for example, to control downstream safety devices for awnings, external blinds, etc.
The sensor electronics are heated as protection against condensation, but there is no heating for the impeller. Therefore, the sensor should only be used for systems in which ice build-up and icing pose no danger! For applications sensitive to icing, we recommend our wind sensor compact.
When using mounting adapters (angle, cross bar, etc.), a possible influence of turbulence must be taken into account.

Choice of installation location
On flat roofs, the Weather Combi Sensor should be installed at a height of 3m and in the middle of the roof instead of at the edge of the roof so that any preferred directions are avoided.
To ensure that the brightness sensors clearly detect the position of the sun, the Weather Combi Sensor must be aligned with a compass so that the precipitation window points north. This ensures that the brightness sensors are assigned according to the direction of the compass.

Mounting
The Weather Combi Sensor is designed for mounting on a mast tube (Ø 35-50mm). This type of mounting allows the sensor to be easily aligned as described above. The sensor should not be affected by obstacles or shadows on any side. The electrical connection is carried out according to the wiring diagram.
Attention! Installation and operation under weather conditions is only permitted in vertical position.

Maintenance
When properly installed, the device is maintenance-free. Heavy environmental pollution can cause the wind speed sensor to clog the gap between the rotating and stationary parts. This gap must always be kept clean so that the cup star turns smoothly. This can be obviously checked at low wind speeds. If the cup star only starts at higher wind speeds or not at all, an inspection by the manufacturer is recommended.
Furthermore, the housing area under which the brightness and precipitation sensors are located should be as free as possible from dust deposits in order not to falsify the measured values. Rain provides a largely independent cleaning of the housing surfaces.

Dew protection
The device has an internal dew protection. It serves to protect the inside of the housing against condensation. It is not capable of protecting the housing from icing.
